Blackjack is the first game most people think about when they hear the word casino. If you’ve never played blackjack before you are in for a treat! The rules are simple.
Blackjack is a very entertaining game that you’re sure to love so naturally we have a wide selection of games for you!
Blackjack is the most common name for the game, but the game is also often called 21 and for good reason! 21 is a very descriptive name as the goal of the game is to get 21 points, or as close as possible without exceeding 21 points.
You will quickly get the hang of it once you start playing. The dealer will start off by dealing two cards face up to each of the players. Deuces through tens hold their face value, while jacks, queens and kings are worth ten points. The ace is a special case as you can choose to count it either as 1 point or as 11 points.
The dealer will also deal two cards to herself, but only one of them will be dealt face up. That means that you need to look at your cards and decide if they are likely to be good enough to beat the dealers cards. If not you might want to ask for another card. Asking for another card is called to ‘hit’. If you don’t want another card you can ‘stay’. In some cases you can also choose to ‘split’ or ‘double’, but we’ll leave that discussion for another day.
Be careful not to draw too many cards as that might result in a bust. A bust is when your score exceeds 21 points. This is an automatic loss so tread carefully!
If on the other hand you manage to get 21 points using just the two cards initially dealt to you then you have a natural, also called a blackjack. This will result in an extra large payout from the casino!
